Where Is My Novel

‘Nandu where is my novel ‘asked my husband one bright Saturday morning, I was completely taken by surprise when I heard this, because my husband never sits with a novel..
I asked him what was the name of the novel and who its author was and what the story line was, there was no answer for any of my questions, and my husband was deeply involved in searching his novel. Deep in my heart I was feeling very happy since my husband had picked up the habit of reading.
I had to cook for lunch and hence told my husband that I would go and cook and left the place, my husband still did not tell him which novel he was searching, all I could see was a tensed and serious face of my husband.
In between my cooking I came and saw if my husband had got his novel, but I saw his hands fidgeting between the other novels and everywhere possible. MY cooking was over and hunger had mounted within and I went to ask my husband if he will also have his lunch right now, but before I could ask I saw my husband peacefully sitting on the bean bag and reading his novel with a smile on his face.
I came closer to my husband and kept my hand on his shoulder and asked ‘So did you get your novel, where was it lying….. MY husband still didn’t answer my question but just showed his pride possession, his all time favorite novel to me, and told it was on the bed and he had not noticed properly, but the moment I saw that I couldn’t stop laughing
It was a TINKLE comic………. Now was this your novel I asked?? My husband told yes and asked what is the difference between your novel and this, both has stories, and in your novel there are no pictures but in mine there are colorful photos which makes it more interesting to read..
My husband further added next time we need to buy the thin tinkle so that he can complete it in one day…..
My happiness lasted for sometime though it was a comic my husband has picked up the habit of reading; I hope to see him read a Sidney Sheldon novel in the near future...

My Mom By The Law

When my marriage fixed the very next thing which came to my mind was, MY MOTHER-IN-Law, yes I was thinking how I need to change my ways, what should I do to gain her attention and like me.

Too many things were running in my mind and I was deeply engrossed about the ways I need to talk to my mother in law and I was grooming myself on this, and I was working on this very seriously, as if I was going to give a performance… I had closely watched one of aunt and her sufferings in her in-laws place and there was always a difference of opinion between them.

The D day came when I met my Mother in law, she walked up to me held my cheek in her hand looked deep into my eyes and gave a kiss to me, I was dumbstruck and taken by a pleasant surprise with such a sweet gesture of my mother in law. MY mother in law actually meant when she told I was like a daughter to her, All my preparations went in vain but I did not regret about that because within seconds I was equally affectionate towards her.

The best part about my mother in law is the way she cuddles me, am sure someday when I get a child she will still cuddle me and treat me her own. It is indeed a special and wonderful feeling to be loved by a mother in law, I have succeeded in gaining my mother in law’s love even without doing anything, that’s when I realized only thing I had to do was to treat her like my own mother and be myself and give her the immense love, care and affection. Then on I started calling her as ‘AMMA’ and I mean it whenever I call her like that.

Time just flies when we both sit to converse, well everything under the sun is our topic, from advices to suggestions to opinions we have it all in our conversations. That’s when I sat back and thought that I am lucky to have got another mom who cares for me.
One quality which I observed and liked in her is no matter what she has a smile on her face, masking all her difficulties and making people to think that she has never had any problem in her life. I have started treating her as my mom and even she has got another daughter, and she even proudly tells to her friends and relatives that I am her daughter!!

That’s why I always feel that she is not a mother in law for me but she is a mother by the law for me, love you mom :) Alright time for me to converse with my mom....

Mother........... A precious Gift by god

God sent beautiful angels to the earth to take care of us and we named them mothers. Yes since god cannot be with us always he created mothers for us. Nothing in this world can be compared to a mother’s love which is so pure and selfless. A mother never thinks about her happiness and she is ever ready to sacrifice anything for her child’s sake, that’s the nature of a mother :)

A mother is born when she gives birth to her child. A woman existed but not a mother before she gave birth to her child…. From baby talks to stories and gossips mothers are there, my mother taught me how to walk and talk and soon i was tired and sat back looked at her and learnt.
Mothers generally want their children to be a learned person and be well versed in everything or most of the things, as a kid I was joined to Indian classical music(Well rest of the time I was in school so didn’t get time for other things :) ) My mom was interested in singing and when she discovered that I had a good voice(Ok, an average voice) insisted that I learn music, though I was interested in learning music, initially I did because I felt the pressure to learn, and I couldn’t enjoy the learning, and slowly learning music became like learning another subject for me in school, which I didn’t enjoy nor liked… It had become a routine for me to attend my music class, and every day I would have an area of improvement, which would continue, things went on and then I told to myself, I have to learn music for myself and to know about it, not to sing in front of others and get an applause or a win concert.
When this thought grew in me, I enjoyed going to my classes, and I thanked my mother within my heart for having joined me to the class.

Recently I met a mother who like any other mother is very possessive and protective about her child, and it was a treat for my eyes to watch this mother cuddling her lovely little angel.. This cute angel is a source of wonderful happiness to anyone around her. When her bundle of joy was engrossed in playing and enjoying herself, here comes the mom to advice the child that she needs to win and come first. I was puzzled because, when the child was actually playing, why should she win in that? Why pressurize the child while playing….. I agree that it’s a pride and as a matter of fact happiness to see our kids doing well in academics, and learning many things and always winning, but pressurizing the children while playing isn’t a right thing…

This mother whom I met even ended up giving a lecture to her 4yr old child, about winning in the game, poor child had no option but to nod her head and put a fake smile on her face.
This left me wondering if the mother was right in comparing the child with another child of her age and creating a competitive atmosphere while playing and wanting the child to win.

It’s a mother’s duty to make the child understand the value of life and give the undying love and affection, appreciate small and good things done by the child and correct him/her in a nice way, well I am not describing how a mother should be, on the other hand I was thinking these are few things which a mother does and these are few things which needs to be done always.

Every child on the earth yearns for his/ her mother’s love, irrespective of age, because as the saying goes ‘A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.
Happy Mother’s day to u mom :)
