Cute Incident which taught great lessons

It was a big day in life, for a little girl of 10years it was really a very big day, I am turning back the pages of my life exactly to 16 years back, huh such a long time back I know, but the lush green memory of that day still stays in my mind and will remain there forever. I suddenly remembered this because I saw a cute little girl in television holding the mike in her playful hands and singing.

Here I go down my memory lane
One bright sunny afternoon I was playing anthakshari (each person sings a song and the next person sings from the ending letter of the previous song) I am sure most of you are aware of this game, not wondering how my voice would sound I used to enjoy this game. It was that day when the orchestra uncle noticed me and spoke with my parents and asked if they could send their little one to sing on stage, my parents were surprised by this approach and told him they would let him know.

It was my mom who came to me that evening and narrated the conversation between my parents and orchestra uncle and asked me if I would want to go ahead, pat came my reply ‘yes I will go and sing’, my mom was surprised because I had replied without thinking, so she asked me again and again if I was sure, for which my reply remained the same and every time with more anxiety to sing. The next day I went to the uncle’s place and told I would like to sing, and I was given a song with its lyrics and then started my training for that song for few days, until I could sing the song perfectly and yes I was all set to go.

The most awaited day had come, there was huge crowd in the hall and there was a formal prayer session and then the function started and one by one everyone’s turn came and they went up to the stage and started singing. I was just holding my mom’s hand and sitting and thinking when my name will be announced, when it was announced loudly, I ran like a deer to the stage and took the mike in my hand for the first time and felt so happy from within and sang the song which I had practiced for so many days, the audience out there were able to hear my voice and I was constantly moving my eyes to get a glance of everyone sitting out there. Finally I finished singing and went back and sat next to my mom with a satisfaction and with a feel that I had achieved something, before the function ended there was an appreciation and garland ceremony held for all the singers, and it included me also and everyone out there gave me a standing ovation, reason I was the youngest singer there………….. everyone had like me singing and as I stepped down from the stage with the big garland, and was walking my way to my parents, many people came and congratulated me and shook hands with me and appreciated my voice and told it was sweet of me to perform on stage at such a young age, honestly speaking I didn’t know if I sang well or not, but I really liked the appreciation going forward This also made me confident in facing the audience when i stood on stage for my future performances. Ever since I got lot of appreciations and critics which helped me in improvising myself. Though it all happened years back, the confidence and boldness which I learnt will never vanish from my life.

Victory Virus

What started as a casual visit to a friend’s place turned out to be a fun filled day……………………… Myself and my hubby were invited to a friend’s place to watch the finals of India and srilanka match at their place, I was all set to go, ofcourse not just to watch the cricket match but I can spend time with my friend and have fun…………………

Having said that I was a non-cricket watching person and was never interested in that, for that matter I was never a sports person since my school days, I was just into academics and then I would participate essay writings, just a minute, etc but never into sports……… It was my dad and my brother who were very crazy about cricket and I still remember my dad used to come home early whenever there was India versus Pakistan or simply India versus any country. I used to feel when was my turn to touch the remote control and change the channel to something which I can watch, yes to that extent I used to not watch cricket matches………………… My brother used to get full liberty from my dad to go out and have fun and shout on the streets once India wins the match, and ofcourse I have seen my brother having such fun many times, and I had told him, well if I was a guy like you even I would have had all these fun, for which he would just laugh and go away without saying a word…….

My husband enjoys watching cricket matches, and I can proudly say that he is the main reason for my transformation of watching the cricket, the excitement what he created for me was amazing it was as if I was going to the field and play for the country, sounds funny isn’t it ?? my first match was India versus Pakistan, the semi final match of the world cup 2011, most of the news channel were speaking about this match, about their reviews, opinion, their favorites and suggestions for both the teams, well all those things were making me more excited to look forward for the match…………. With my hubby’s help I tried to understand few cricket terminologies and watched the match, wow it was indeed fun and was a nail biting experience……………… Infact i was urging my hubby to not change the channles during commercial advertisements, well that was silly of me India had beaten Pakistan in the semi finals to make it way to the grand finale, that very night myself hubby went out and met our friends spoke enough about the match had ice cream and left for the day bidding good bye………..

Well out of the blue I started talking about my previous experience that is just to say how much of transformation has happened to me, from being a non-cricket watching person to someone who watched cricket (ofcourse I don’t understand completely even now, nevertheless i still enjoy watching)

Last night’s cricket match victory was something which was really very special to everyone who wanted India to win the match and who were constantly cheering up, yes even we did, especially when dhoni hit the final 6…………… by now we all had were smitten by the victory virus, myself hubby and all our friends went to streets, raised our voices and shouted so much and had loads of fun, and saw people on the streets who were enjoying and having fun just like us…………………

Well we wanted a reason for celebration and it turned out to be the world cup, wow now what can I say about that……………………….. I enjoyed every bit of the final match, more so I enjoyed the enjoyment and the way we celebrated the success…………………. I had felt many times why do people shout when someone has won, why can’t they keep quiet, but yesterday I experienced it myself, and now I know why it happens like that, its sheer fun and pure joy………………………

A reason to celebrate the success in your way with your people in your style, having said that I had a blast and a fun filled day……………….
